The full name of Tie Domi is Tahir Tie Domi. He was born on 1st of November in the year 1969. Presently he is a retired ice hockey player. He used to play professional ice hockey for the Canadian national team. In his ice hockey career Tie played for New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs. He played the role of an enforcer in the particular team for which he played. Tie took birth in a small town of Belle River which is situated in Ontario. He was brought in this particular town.
Since childhood, Tie was attracted towards the game of hockey. Initially in his childhood he was into the sport of minor hockey. He played minor hockey for the local team of Belle River, which is named Belle River Rink Rats or OMHA. Domi’s parents were actually from Bitola which is within the Republic of Macedonia. They have the ethnicity of Albanian. At a very young age of fifteen years, Tie Domi played for the team of Belle River Canadiens in junior category.
When Tie was 16 years old, he was included in the junior team of Windsor Bulldogs. In his career of junior category, he played the game as a part time player. In many occasions, he played the role of extra player in the squad. Till the age of eighteen, he was a part timer in the particular sport of hockey. But, particular when he turned eighteen, a drastic change came in his hockey career. His playing style changed totally and he became very consistent. His confidence level slowly raised and Tie found his place in the playing squad permanently. This was only possible because of his great play in the OHL. He played the role of enforcer in OHL and after this event he had play this particular role for his entire hockey career.
In year 1988, Tie Domi was introduced to ice hockey game in professional level. He made his debut for the Toronto Maple Leafs. After his debut in the sport of ice hockey, he had to never turn back in entire career of hockey. Tie Domi assisted his co players for scoring goals many a times. He himself has scored goals quite often. He was a great ice hockey player of his age and became the inspiration of the young generation. He had a very unique style of play which helped him to gain so much popularity.
